Internet Small Computer System Interface, iSCSI |
 |
ISCSI is an Internet (Small Computer System Interface) – An internet Protocol (IP)-based storage networking standard developed by the Internet Engineering Task Force, IETF. Key benefits of ISCSI are that it manages storage over long distances and facilitates data transfers over intranets. The bi-directional ISCSI can be used to transmit data over local area networks (LANs), and wide area networks (WANs). ISCSI is one of two main solutions to storage data transmission over IP networks, Fibre Channel over IP (FCIP) being the other. |
