Clients understand the need to implement and centrally managed their storage.  At IceWEB we are designing our software to meet your business requirements by leveraging best practices learned at many client locations.  It is far too easy for storage vendors to sell you what they think you need.  In many cases this ends up as “self ware” and rarely ever is utilized. With that in mind we focus our efforts on what is needed by the customer.

Our software is specifically designed to ensure consistent availability, performance requirements, and data protection services provided by the storage with a focus on centrally managing the  physically distributed and/or centrally configured storage arrays through our JAVA-based management tools using any industry standard web browser.  IceWEB arrays can be centrally managed regardless of their location in your office, enterprise or around the world. SNMP, e-mail, paging and other notification options provide integration with leading third party systems management packages such as HP OpenView, Tivoli and others.

MorStorVIEW™

MorStorVIEW automatically recognizes all IceWEB storage products on the network, manages and evaluates storage utilization through capacity management, event monitoring and overall system availability. Maintaining a healthy storage environment is made simple through real time alert notification. Based on preset thresholds, alerts are sent to e-mail addresses, pagers, cell phones and SNMP suites for fast response to counter potential disruptions. The advanced analysis features gives detailed performance information on logical drives, ports and controllers for maximum storage utilization.  This allows our clients to easily configure their storage for optimal performance and efficiency, based on the customer’s storage allocation requirements.

TruCache™

When it comes to performance, the single most important factor for any storage system is how well it makes use of higher speed cache memory to enhance disk IO operations. Cache is used to increase the speed of read and write operations as well as allow dual operation writes in applications such as mirroring. While the use of cache provides an incredible performance gain, there is also an incredible risk associated with it. File system corruption and lost data can result if the cache is not managed and maintained properly. For this reason, IceWEB utilizes our TruCache™ technology in high availability, redundant controller configurations. When you deploy a dual controller system from IceWEB, you are assured of cache integrity because the system simultaneously mirrors all cache and maintains complete coherency. In fact, IceWEB differentiates itself from most other vendors by offering independent paths from two different controllers to the same disk simultaneously, while supporting reads and writes from both controllers. TruCache™ insures high-performance and data integrity when you operate in an Active/Active (multi-controller) mode.

TruMap™

When offering multiple ports to hardware RAID controllers, one often overlooked feature is port control. On the TruEnterprise product line you have up to 512 LUN host connections. Flexibility in mapping the ports on each controller makes management easier and substantially reduces management complexity. TruMap™ gives you the ability to map each port on a controller using one of three methods: One-to-One, One-to- Any, or Any-to-One. You can choose the appropriate mapping scheme based on your needs such as security purposes, bandwidth provisioning (QoS), Functions and Network segregation. This allows you to maintain bandwidth for mission critical and sensitive applications as well as insure minimum or maximum data rates to a specific LUN.

TruMask™

Security has never been more important than it is now. Because today’s storage implementations are often on a network, in addition to being directly attached, storage arrays must have their own level of security to insure data integrity and privacy. To answer this need, IceWEB utilizes our TruMask™ option to protect your valuable data. TruMask™ gives you control over which arrays, and even LUNs, can be viewed by individual hosts and storage management applications. Because TruMask™ works down at the LUN level you have the ability to mix different data security classifications within a single array. When TruMask™ is invoked, the storage array looks at each computer connected and instantaneously determines which LUNs a computer can see as well as access. TruMask™ is a key component in successful SAN installations.
